Nila Gupta was born in 1961 in Montreal, Canada. She is a Toronto-based biracial, South Asian woman. She is an author, an artist, an educator, an activist, a parent. Throughout my interview with Nila, I have understood the running theme of her life to be as someone who has constantly fought for space. For herself and for others. She fought for housing for immigrant women and networks for Lesbian women of colour. She sought space for fulfilling and healthy relationships and space for visibility.
